Court of Fives
A really wonderful first YA novel from a writer used to targetting an older audience. The transition from adult to YA may not have been entirely free from bumps for some, but it was everything I enjoy about Kate Elliott's work as well as YA. To me, the characters were more three-dimensional than I see in a lot of other YA, and their story was one I followed with ease and excitement. I thoroughly enjoyed it, hated putting it down, and can't wait to read the next one.
